Sunday Worship for April 26, 2020
Third Sunday of Easter Hymn: 645 Sing Praise to God Who Reigns Above Call to worship (based on Psalm 96) O sing to the Lord a new song; sing to the Lord, all the earth. Sing to the Lord, bless God’s name; tell of God’s salvation from day today. Declare God’s glory among the nations, God’s marvelous works among all the peoples. For great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised; The Holy One is to be revered above all gods. For all the gods of the peoples are idols, but the Lord made the heavens. Honor and majesty are before God; strength and beauty are in God’s sanctuary. O sing to the Lord a new song; sing to the Lord, all the earth. Opening prayer of confession Gracious God, who made heaven and earth and all this is in the earth, we praise you. We give you thanks for the creation you untrusted to us. We give you thank for the beauty of the earth. Yet, too often we forget this call to serve. We forget that we have been tasked with tending your creation and loving your created beings. Forgive us. Remind us of our calling and guide us into loving and serving your world. (Silent prayer) Amen. Assurance of Pardon We have been created in love. We have been forgiven in love. Thanks be to God.
