Committees, Teams, and groups at OPC

There are different kinds of gifts, but the same Spirit distributes them. There are different kinds of service, but the same Lord. There are different kinds of working, but in all of them and in everyone it is the same God at work.

Mission and Outreach Committee

The Mission and Outreach Committee is one of the busiest in the church. They're responsible for many of the outward-facing projects of the church.

​Whether it's raising funds for medical missions, supplying food for those in need, organizing members for volunteer work, or joining with other churches and organizations for big projects, MIssion and Outreach is there! ​

Worship and Music Committee

The Worship and Music Committee coordinates  the church's worship services.  In consultation with the pastor, the committee assists in regular and special worship services.

​Members also help with various aspects of worship, such as Communion and Baptism.

CONGREGATIONAL CARE Committee

The Congregational Care Committee helps nurture the church family. 

It supports fellowship during worship, and ensures that all members feel connected. The committee also promotes fellowship activities outside of worship.

Congregational Care also supports the pastoral care of the church members.

property Committee

The Property Committee is responsible for the maintenance and improvement of the church's physical plant. That includes both buildings and grounds. The committee also regularly inspects the facility to ensure safety.

Finance Committee and
endowment committee

The Finance Committee guides and assists the church in undertaking all its financial concerns. These duties include the collection and recording of congregational offerings. The committee provides monthly financial reports for the Session and the congregation.

The committee also oversees the work of the Endowment Committee. That committee manages the church' endowments, memorial funds, and scholarship fund.

spiritual formation team

The Spiritual Formation Team helps persons of all ages to grow in their understanding of the gospel, and to enter an active life of discipleship. The team's involved with providing Christian education opportunities for young children during worship. They also coordinate several groups involved with Christian study and fellowship.

COVENANT REVIEW TEAM

This team is responsible for enabling a covenant relationship approach where we are all responsible for our ministries.  In this context, the CRT is responsible for facilitating planning; team based goals and evaluating the church’s life and work.  As part of this holistic approach to our ministries, it is also responsible for the staff of the church.

Communications Team

The OPC Communications Team has two main roles. The first is to keep the congregation informed of all worship services, ministries, fellowship opportunities, and community projects that affect the life of the church.

​The second is to make the local community and the wider world aware of those as well -- and help spread of the word of God .
