Happy one year anniversary OPC! I can’t believe my first Sunday here was June 2, 2019 - what a year it’s been!!
As we move into the summer I hope we are able to safely meet together soon. I look forward to the day we are able to gather together in worship. But I also hope and pray that we are all doing everything we can to stay safe.
At the beginning of the year, I shared with you all that my New Year’s resolution would be to spend more time in prayer. At the time I had no idea how necessary that spiritual practice would be. Throughout this pandemic I have been praying for each of you - for your health and safety; for your healing and wholeness.
I have practiced different prayer techniques and found different ways to attune myself to being in direct communication with God. Now I would like to share some of those things with you all. Starting in June we will be going through a sermon series about prayer using the Psalms. We will be focusing on four different types of prayer over four weeks.
One way to remember these different types of prayers is through the acronym ACTS. This stands for Adoration, Confession, Thanksgiving, and Supplication. As we look forward to this new sermon series, I invite you to pray with and for me, and I will continue to pray with and for you too.
Sing along with me now…It’s beginning to look a lot like….
A house! Orange County Habitat for Humanity is making some above ground progress with their project on Peliso Avenue. Drive by sometime and take a look!
It won’t be long until the roof is finished, the siding is on, the doors and windows in, and then the real fun begins---all the interior work!
We will have to limit our volunteer work crews, stay socially distant, and do our best to stay safe, but we will continue to work on this house. We have a wonderful, hard working young mom eagerly anticipating her purchase of this house.
We’ll keep you posted! If you need any more information about Habitat work in this community, contact Cindy Reid
