Pre-worship music begins at 6:45 pm

Picture
All are welcome to our Lessons and Carols service. Pre-worship music begins at 6:55, so we recommend arriving early (it also ensures you'll have a bulletin and a seat!).

For this service, there's no sermon. Rather, scripture passages are read, and then carols are sung or played in response. Below is the order of carols:

Opening Hymn:  Once in Royal David's City (Congregation/Instrumentalists/Organ)
Carol #1:  Come, Thou Long Expected Jesus (Congregation/Bagpipe/Organ)
Carol #2:  O Come, O Come Emmanuel  (Woodwind Trio)
Carol #3:  Hark! The Herald Angels Sing (Congregation/Instrumentalists/Organ)
Carol #4:  Lo, How a Rose E'er Blooming (Brass)
Carol #5:  Mary's Hymn (Soprano Solo)
Carol #6:  I Wonder as I Wonder (Choir)
Carol #7:  Angels We Have Heard on High (Congregation/Instrumentalists)
Carol #8:  Following Yonder Star (Handbells/Percussion)
Carol #9:  Joy to the World (Congregation/Instrumentalists)
Song after Prayer:  A Christmas Blessing (Choir)
Closing Hymn:  Silent Night (Congregation/Brass)
Postlude:  Infant Holy, Infant Lowly (Instrumentalists)

A variety of musicians will enhance our worship and singing. You'll hear a handbell choir, chorus, brass choir, bagpipes, piano and organ duets, woodwind trio, Renaissance instruments, and soloists. And yes, we will all light candles and sing "Joy to the World."
