Presbyterian Men
The Presbyterian Men are not just about monthly breakfasts. They also conduct the worship on Father's Day, conduct service projects and sponsor social events for everyone.
The Presbyterian Men will hold the October breakfast on Sunday, October 19 at 8:30 am in the Fellowship Hall. The breakfast will feature pancakes and sausage. The cooking team is asked to assemble at 7:30 am.
Current projects will be discussed and plans will be made for the fall. A short film, entitled “Kickball” will be shown and discussed. The film, by Rob Bell, addresses God’s plan for our lives. Men who would like to prepare for the discussion are asked to read Jeremiah 29:11-14 and James 1:17.
Fifteen men attended the September 21 meeting of Presbyterian Men.
- Invited guest Cecil Middleton was presented with a framed certificate of appreciation and enthusiastic applause for his craftsmanship and hard work in helping us renovate our church basement.
- A letter of appreciation from Pre-School Board chair Ellen Kendall was shared.
- Appreciation for helping with the basement renovation was also expressed to Mike Willis for buying and loaning the necessary tools and fasteners, and to those who helped paint ductwork or carry in building materials. These include Howard Berckman, Lloyd Parcell, Al Packard, Syd Palmer, Harold McCauley, Jack Thompson, Rod McLeod, Gene Whitaker, and Mike Willis.
- Bill Chapman reviewed the past year's accomplishments and Rod McLeod shared a Nooma Series video program, "Trees" which examined the new covenant in the context of Genesis and Revelation.
- Rod and Bill were re-elected as co-leaders and Fred Lourenzo as treasurer. We agreed to volunteer to help with the Angel Food Program by unloading trucks.
Thanks,
Bill Chapman
