Leroy, construction coordinator for the church, kept us supplied with just the right materials and tools all week. |

On this block, there is only one other occupied house. Looks like a ghost town.... |

Albert and Will spend the day "creatively" dealing with the front of the house. Nothing seems to be easy. It didn't help when we discovered someone had broken in and stolen all of the newly installed copper piping and a table saw. Notice the boarded up windows- this is for security reasons. |

Al and Gene spent all day working in the very tiny backyard building 2 small decks. The house is a very typical double house with narrow, single rooms. One of the decks will hold an air conditioning unit- the first time this homeowner has had air conditioning! |
Notice the fence separating the two sides of the house. The houses behind this one are also empty and mostly destroyed.

Albert on the porch roof. It appeared the water reached halfway up the house. |

Day 2- the work on the front of the house continues. We have had several curious neighbors stop by or thank us as they pass. |

One of our goals is to get the whole house drywalled. Tonight, after dinner, Cliff Nunn, pastor of First Presbyterian, came by to talk to us about the ongoing challenges of helping re-build New Orleans. |

Hanking Drywall and etc., etc., etc.
