Youth and Christian Education Committee Responsibilities
2008 Elders: Lynn Clements and Dianne Haberland
- Develop policies relating to church school enrollment, grouping, teacher enlistments and special activities, overseeing and coordinating all church education.
- Review and recommend the curriculum to be used by each church school age group.
- Nominate for Session approval the church school administrative staff.
- Approve the church school teaching staff.
- Plan and execute teacher training events; seek to support and build teacher morale.
- Maintain a policy of limited terms of work for Christian Education leaders and teachers.

- Promote and publicize Church conferences, camps, and educational institutions.
- Work to provide a meaningful nursery experience for children during Sunday worship. In coordination with the Worship Committee, see that the nursery is staffed during worship services and at other special occasions, that a roll of those present is kept, and that the nursery is kept clean, safe, and well-equipped.
- Work with the pastor in providing a variety of study-discussion courses for adults in such areas as the Bible, personal religion, family and marriage issues, worship and witness.
- Oversee the church’s program for youth, seeking to develop in the church’s youth faith, understanding, and commitment to Christ and to his mission, and an appreciation and desire for the Church’s fellowship.
- Share information with the Presbyterian Women and assist that organization in its educational work.
- Establish with the pastor guidelines for confirmation classes and new member classes.
- Prepare a budget for worship activities, equipment, and materials to be sent to the Finance Committee.
